“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”
Isaiah 60:1
What is the Ailanga School Project?
The Ailanga School Project is an organization comprised of a small group of Seattle-area Lutheran churches that support Ailanga Lutheran Junior Seminary in Tanzania—a private boarding school located in the Meru Diocese, near the city of Arusha.
Ailanga Junior Lutheran Seminary’s vision is to be a fountain of faithful Christian students who are eligible for universities and colleges, imbued with the knowledge of how to serve the church and their society. Through the partnership with the Ailanga School Project, the school raised the necessary funding and supplies to construct and operate a brand new science wing, allowing the school to achieve level A accreditation.
This partnership is one of love, faith, and stewardship, and has changed the lives of hundreds upon hundreds of people. On this website, you will find information about the history of the school and the partnership, a gallery of photographs that have been taken by past delegations, and the ability to donate directly to the Ailanga School Project.
In the summer of 2004, seventeen students and chaperones from Seattle answered an invitation to visit Ailanga.
What they found there was a lasting partnership of faith, cultural exchange, and stewardship.
The partnership has organized youth and adult delegation trips to Ailanga approximately every two years, strengthening the bonds between the school and the Ailanga School Project.
